Here is what makes it special and how fans carry it today.

What Makes Minato’s Kunai Different

Most ninja in Naruto throw standard single-blade kunai. Minato, the Fourth Hokage, used a special kunai with three prongs.

Each one carries a marking tied to his signature technique. That marking is what turns a simple weapon into a teleport point.

How the Flying Thunder God Works

The Flying Thunder God, also called the Flying Raijin, lets Minato appear almost instantly at a marked spot.

He throws a kunai, it lands, and he is there in a flash. In battle, scattered kunai become a web of escape and attack routes.

That speed earned him the nickname “Yellow Flash” and made his name feared across the ninja world.

Why Fans Still Love It

• It is a clean shape that is easy to recognize.
• It represents one of the most respected characters in the series.
• It is tied to an emotional story about family and sacrifice.
• The technique appears again later in the series.

For many fans, the kunai is a reminder of the moment they learned who Naruto’s father was. That weight is why it shows up in fan art, cosplay and merch.
